She lays before you, an amused look painted across her face. The sound of your footsteps echoing off the cave walls warned her of your approach some minutes before. You stop some six or seven paces from her, just, taking her in, waiting for her to respond to your presence. The silence is interrupted by a lone drop of water, falling from a stalactite above, into a nearby pool of water. She watches as your gaze passes along her form, across her wings, and down her tail. She doesn't seem to mind, as you let yourself stare for a moment.

This here is an experimental project drawing I did by request. I figured, I really haven’t drawn any dragons in years, so I may as well step outside of my comfort zone to give it a try. I’m not 100% sold on how it turned out, especially the mixed media digital stuff I did for the background, but overall, I think it turned out alright, all things considered. I really took a lot longer than I should have to finish this, which was equal parts procrastination, and actually having real life stuff get in the way. That being said, I really hope to be able to start focusing more time on producing new artstuff, and plan on really directing attention to more cervalope drawings.
On a final note, I’ll say that I sorta jumped off the deep end with this one, and only barely swam to the surface. If you have any technical advice you’d like to offer, feel free.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good day.

scales must have taken ages! looks great
bleh. they definitely did. Don't think I'll make myself draw individual scales ever again. I simply don't have the stamina for it, and I get really lazy by the end. even if they were really simple shapes.
