Aerak and I took a trip up north, discovering some amazing landscapes... One of which was this rock surfaced beach.

I saw a really cool picture in my head, watching him out on the rocks...so I captured it for everyone to see :)

It really was. It felt like we were on an island all by ourselves. Lake superior is kind of a weird place...such a large lake surrounded by land.

I love places like that. There's something tremendously peaceful about feeling isolated in nature, even for a moment. (Used to spend a lot of time on Lake Ontario when I was younger... although Lake Superior is in a class of its own!)

I believe that is where we were at...Two harbors. We're hoping to do another trip at some point! :3

Oh sure, Two Harbors is just south of me (Beaver Bay). Artist Point is up in Grand Marais, but there are basalt lava flows all over the area. If you've never driven all the way up the shore I highly recommend it, it's beautiful.
