Set the wayback machine to 2009; it's time to get another piece off the backlogue pile!
The colors for this guy were inspired by Mom's crazy orchids. I used a new brand of colored pencils - Arteza - which are Chinese-made. These are decent pencils, but the colors are all pretty translucent, so one is limited to very light background color or plain white paper. They blend well, but the wax tends to crumble a bit as the layers build up - rather like crayon.
I included gel pen texturing and detailing, and the dragon is holding a sodalite stone. The blue background is pearlized scrapbook paper.
