As someone who has social anxiety and often slips into a fear that no one actually likes me, they just tolerate me, it can be pretty damn powerful hearing someone actually confirm that they do in fact like you. I imagine, in her case, that she has a hard time feeling confident in identifying how others feel about her after experiencing Wyatt's emotional abuse.
