OH! Now I get it! It's kinda like in those old Laurel and Hardy movies when Stanly would get so upset that his dialog would break down into a series of almost unintelligible squeaks and whimpers. The image of "Silver" pointing and gesturing where the Griffin went instantly popped up in my head.
