I wasn't aware anyone was blaming Quill for that. It never even occurred to me anyone WOULD - that seems to take a level of wilful misreading of the movie that's up there with "Thanos was right"! Are people really doing that? That's... sadly believable. But I did get a chuckle from your list of potential natural occurrences, and your subtitle, and I agree with your argument.
