Beautiful character, I especially liked to paint membrane.
A new portion of experiments for me. This time it's my first experience drawing lava. Also on my works can be seen that most of the main element in my work is the environment. In this work I tried to give more attention to the character. Now in the process of another work of this kind. I am trying to somehow correct its direction in art, because if I understand correctly, the customers prefer when more attention is paid to the characters and not the environment. So far, this is not very easy for me, because in my work the background has always been an important element.
I do not often talk to my watchers, so I would like to ask. Do you think it is worth making the characters a key element in the work, or to continue to focus on the environment and the story?

The lighting is beautiful!
I'm not really a watcher but I saw this on the front page and wanted to swing by.
I think to answer your question...both have their place. It depends on what you're trying to say, what you're trying to get someone to look at. They can complement each other either way. Sometimes, a feeling is better expressed when you can see the emotion of the character, where sometimes it's better if you have the world to look at with the character just accenting.
It doesn't hurt to keep practicing with something you're not quite as comfortable with, but still doing what you like.

Daaaamn, this is super badass! Very nicely done; the detail is incredible
And personally, for the sake of the commissioner, I think the focus should be on the character. It makes the picture feel more personalized to them as opposed to just any other viewer, which is fair since the commissioner paid the money ^^
But of course, background is very important too! A proper balance must be struck :3

This is absolutely beautiful. The scale work, the lighting, the viscous pooling of that lava... just incredible!
Personally, I'd imagine if it's a commission you're doing, the character is the most critical part - but is that any reason to put less effort into the background?
