Evelyn was a Jaguar now. She accepted this. She was a born a jaguar trapped in a meaningless, human shell. Being a part of the place taught her how to embrace the side of her she'd been oppressing for so long and now she prowled around the sanctuary in search for her own enclosure. It would seem odd that a wild animal would want to stay locked up, but she was lonely. If everyone around was becoming wild cats like her, and if Becky could get to choose a mate for herself, then she would find one of her own—a real king of a cat. Long, dark and mysterious...a true hunter of the jungle dark.
Fortunately, there was indeed a human roaming about the enclosure, looking for something. Based on his smell and dress, he was one of the actual jaguar handlers. The others were hiding, afraid or asleep. Not her, however. She would seize the opportunity to have her male while she had the chance. Her eagerness was making her anticipate what he would look like underneath that ugly skin—her pleased chuffing almost gave her cover away while she silent stalked him from behind.
She took the human by complete surprise, tackling him from behind and pulling him down. He actually yelled but not in terror or pain. It was soon a healthy fit of Jovial laughter as he wrestled with Evelyn. He was certainly very strong for a human. He soon had her curled up in his arms like a human infant as he gently stroked her head.
“I don't think I've ever seen you before, and I know all my jaguars.” He said smiling. “I'm Derek. I wonder what I'll call you...”
Evelyn leaned up next to his and whispered between purrs, “Call me Evelyn.”
Derek paused for a minute, making sure he didn't just hear that with his sharpening ears. “Did you just talk?”
“Oh, yes...I can do more,” Evelyn rubbed his chin, dark hairs sprouting on it. “Derek is a good panther name. Won't you be mine?”
Derek was completely dumbfounded by this needy, talking jaguar. Despite being actually married to a loving wife for six years, he was still attractive enough to get the attention of many a girl, but never a Jaguar. He would've been flattered if he didn't take into account their incompatibility. Yet the smell she had on her was doing something to his head. It was making his eyes go hazy and his judgment impaired. He felt he could do anything he was told to, and he would obey without hesitation. This was not a state of mind he was comfortable being in, but she smelled so beautiful. His pinkening nose and enhanced sense of smell said so much about her. He wasn't sure why he had that wedding ring on in the first place. It would be in the way of his swelling paws...
His claws pushed against the back of his pants as his tail came out, his dark furred muzzle exchanging sniffs with Evelyn. Evelyn mewed cutely as she rubbed his flattenin forehead. “I knew you were my panther. My hunter in the dark...”
“Yes, I am a panther...” Derek chuffed as he rolled onto his back, his stature and frame too far changed to get rid of this awful uniform. With Evelyn's help, however, the offensive attire came undone and he was bare within the jungle brush. Just as he should've been.
“I love you,” Derek chuffed, rubbing under her chest.
“Yes, I know...let's get to know each other more in the brush.” Evelyn winked as she coyly padded into the shrouded green. Driven by instinct and the now, the former husband followed after the sultry Jaguar, leaving his wedding ring in the mud.
