A fursona is a "furry persona", the furry character that an individual presents to the online public. The evolution of the term was fairly direct:

I am my own fursona, myself. (bow) But then, I've always been quite a character. Roofus, being un Canadien, uses the spelling, "fursonae"; being a United States American, I reserve the "ae" ending for the plural.

aww he's very cute :D I have never really made a fursona because I'm more eclectic in the art world and I always have used my own human cartoon caricature to represent my physical being. That being said, all of my original characters represent pieces of my personality. But if I had to relate the closest to one of my anthropomorphic characters, I'd say it would be Bernadette-- because she represents my morals and values and the things I look forward to in life.
