Ahhh...supplying nuclear power for the west half of the United States. Maps on the subject can't seem to agree with just how many of those plants exist. Ten. Fifteen. They all seem to agree that it's the eastern half that is generating most of the nation's power, though. Whole lot of Natural Gas and a big push for solar in Cali.
California also has it's share of wind and solar power. However, a somewhat hidden fact (from the past. Maybe this annoying restriction has since been removed from the books.) is that only a percentage of our power grid is permitted to be supplied by renewable resources like wind/water/solar. A very small percentage. News spilled it during a super black out, some years back. What was it??? 10%? I feel it was more like 5% or even 2%. Coal, nuclear and natural gas had to be the vast majority...by law.
