Recently I’ve been having a lot of up and downs with my creating, to the point it’s been hard for me to like my work. So today I took a step back and did something I love, making jointed bears! Honestly it felt refreshing and this was just a fun one to make (who is the inspiration for an upcoming fursuit!). I’m heavily inspired by vintage jointed bears, and the bears my grandmother made me. Handmade bears are very special, there’s always a feeling passed on with them as each stitch is time consuming and precious. Between finding the bears my late grandmother gave me, and watching Make Thrift Buy, I was inspired to make a stuffed animal using only fabrics and yarn I already owned (all scraps that have been sitting around) that was styled towards a handmade animal that could be passed on to future generations. I love the vintage and modern mix this little donkey has and I can’t wait to perfect this pattern and make more!
