Well, Somebody's Full.... (Spyro 20th Anniversary!)
...of himself.
And why shouldn't he be?
Well, it sprung up on me with all the stuff going on, but I remembered just in time that, HEY, It's Spyro's 20th Anniversary! Finally.
Wow, twenty years for the little guy...SO long ago.
Well to the credit, HALF of that nothing happened.
Skylanders?
Like I said, nothing happened.
But anyway, it's been 20 years since his debut and ten years since the end of Legend. Let's put the whole Reignited backs and forths behind us right now and just celebrate the purple runt that gave us dragons at least a decent stepping stone in Earth's VG media.
Sucks Gex never got that far...
Eh *shrugs* True, but dragon, lizard...close enough.
Wow thanks!
Don't get comfortable with that statement. Anyway, it was always fun enjoying Spyro's adventures. The myriad of worlds, the gem collecting, whacking Moneybags...all of it was so much fun and kept getting better...for at least the first three games. Things kind of slipped then, and the Legend series kind of brought back some roots...To it's credit, Skylanders at least put Spyro (or at least a version of him) in a SHOW. And lets face it, some of us wouldn't mind a Spyro series.
So lets give a few cheers for the dragon who'll hopefully open the door up for more scaled protagonists---
Oooh like us!
---uh, anyway...yeah a few cheers for that...and that we wait eagerly in anticipation of what further adventures may come. Now that he's got a revival coming, it looks like he'll start getting back into the swing of things.
Eh...his diaper's kinda doing that...for him...

There was a pun?
Heh heh, he's tired...
Yeah I am ugh...
But anyway, yeah, market-wise there may be some turbulence, but sure people appreciate that Toys For Bob told Activision to delay things so they could do it all right. It's a balance of different things, but I think it'll pan out.

Yes, I believe pushing a game development is good. However, pushing it back to try and compete with heaving hitting games coming out is just a bad move.
They may as well postpone the game till next year. They need to be able to release the game when they have no big titles being release to compete with it. They get sales and Spyro can stay a float.

Going to be looking forward to Reignited. The legend series is what I really grew up with but I played all the originals, great games!
Also for the record, Skylanders was actually a great game series. They really tried to have good campaigns and had a bunch of playable dragons. Besides, same company is doing the remake. If skylanders didn’t do well... we might not have a remaster. Think about that!
Anyway, super excited and great art!

One thing Legend lacked was added material...think there was only an Elijah Wood interview for the first one (that's ALL that was in the Extras heh heh), but they picked it up in second with at least some art unlocks, and I think some other things for Dawn. Still, it was a decent series, and boy was that opening music it to it all SO epic.
*shrugs* I don't forgive Skylanders for making Spyro look disastrous, and using his name to promote something that he wasn't the star of...
...BUT...game-wise, I can't make too many judgements. Do have the first one, and aim to play it some time to experience it myself. And, my opinion of Toys for Bob has drastically improved in their dedication and results (not to mention overall decision) in returning Spyro to his roots. They really are trying to make things better, and you gotta give them massive kudos to that.

It's like what they say about Kingdom Hearts 3, it's the end of the Dark Seeker saga, but it's not the end of Kingdom Hearts. From what we're seeing of their recreation for Reignited, who knows what worlds they could put in next.
Though...will say I have concerns...if they...try to to shoehorn in Skylanders somehow to Spyro's OG state...they should keep those separate...
