MEEP! As a pawslut little/micro/shrinkie/tiny, I adore footwear that makes for HAPPY FEET!
For a while, tatami Zori with velvet straps were "the thing": worn by kids, guys AND gals.
The straw-top smells so sweet when warmed by bare feet hugging them all day!
Definity the invitation for little friends to hitch a ride on 'em !

Huh, never seen him used in this sort of art before. Mind, he's a fairly obscure character, in a fairly overshadowed series of RPGs, so it does make sense he's not as well known as others. I think Katt has the most of this sort of art, somewhat due to her more traditionally 'hot' design, and because Breath of Fire II was probably the most popular of the five internationally released games in the set.
That said, interesting interpretation of the design in game, adding depth and detail to him the game was unable to show well due to the watercolor art style they went with. Curious if you played the American or European versions of the game myself. The American one cut most of his backstory due to them cutting the bathhouse location, and while the European version allowed that to stay, somewhat, they didn't bother translating it correctly, so words were garbled a lot.
