Occasionally Gabriel can get a little overenthusiastic with his targets, which can lead to the wrong person getting eaten, the wrong person happening to be someone that he is supposed to bring in alive if he wants a reward. Fortunately, in this case there was another, more expendable, outlaw available to retrieve his target before it gets too digested.
