The TV show "The Banana Splits" premiered 50 years ago today, Sept 7, 1968.
I remember watching the show when I was a kitten and thinking "That's what I want to be when I grow up!"

Ahhh, the good ol' Banana Splits. I remember Warner Bros. tried reviving them in 2008, but it didn't last very long. At least they actually used costumes instead of just going CGI or whatever...

Why must so many nostalgic and memorable kids' shows undergo such dark undertones for reboots? First Archie, then Sabrina, Teen-Wolf and even poor Scooby-Doo have had this happen.
It just doesn't seem right to their original legends...
