It started off routine - creeping through the shadows of the tall grass. The hares of the plains seemed like easy enough targets. At least until you tried to catch one.
Not only do they have those big kickers that can launch them 20 feet in any direction, but many are skilled in a type of air magic. Blasts of dust and whirling gales that leave their attackers confused, as they amp up their own speed with enchantments.
Ropes came from every direction as the hares all worked in perfect unison to bring down their attacker. Once he was hogtied and subdued, the tribe congratulated itself and motioned to move on. One of the longears decided to stay behind.
"So... third time this week."
"Yup" growls the cheetah, as a pair of feet come to rest on his back. He squirms and snarls, but he's about as helpless as can be.
"Are you gonna behave...?"
"Nope." he huffs. Huh... they used the good rope this time.
"Well... in that case, I'm just gonna settle in and watch until you learn your lesson."
"Untie me, you longeared sonofa..."
The only response was a soft snoring coming from the hare's general direction. The cheetah grumbles, realizing he might be here for awhile...
My lovely mate surprised me with this commission! I love Kaput's stuff! It's just so expressive, and they've got such a unique style. When I first saw this, I couldn't help but chuckle - it's not only something I'd do, but the whole scene is just very much 'us'! I do something silly (read: AMAZING!), going all out and then just flopping after, while Eagle just sighs and settles in. It'll blow over. Hares tire themselves out and move onto something else pretty quickly.
Eventually.
