Many times, people had approached the dragon scientist, expecting him to be full of sneakiness, confidence and ultimate scientific power. Most of the time, he could pull it off like a pro, what with all his pointy dragon scales all pointy and sinister looking. However, all you had to do was to be gentle and say a few nice words, and all the Britishness comes out of him: a little modesty, a deep sense of respect, and a whole load of shyness. Truly convince him that he's doing amazing, and he'll go into that stage where he can't complete a simple sentence!
This lovely watercolour-style piece of gift art comes from
azakui, as a raffle prize. I have to say, when I saw the thumbnail, I thought that the dragon had been wrapped up in tight bandages, but go full screen, and you'll see that it's just the artistic decision to only colour a part of the sketch. Do you recall that magic paper where if you run a wet paintbrush over it, suddenly there was colour that went over the relevant sections of the drawing? It looks very much like that.
