Went out on recce as per the Group Captain's orders. Nothing unusual, save on return leg of the journey. Came into contact a strange air vehicle, with two enormous propellers set on its vertical axis, as well as two regular aero-engines, allowing it to hover mid-air at will. It appeared armed, but did not fire, and attempted to escape me, spewing out copious amounts of smoke. It was quite slow, but I was low on fuel, so abandoned the chase, returned to base and made report. The contraption had no markings, and was possibly some form of experimental spy aircraft.
I've had this model for ages. I was going to do an animation for it, so it did have articulate rotors, but for the still image I had to regrettably remove that detail to blur it. It's some kind of steampunk-dieselpunk helicopter that looks like it hit a shark at 100 km/h.
It has two double-barrelled turrets as defence, as well as an oversized harpoon gun in its nose, which I presume is used either to spear dragons, or has an explosive content, and acts as some form of primitive missile. It has a counter-rotating rotors, as I couldn't fit a propeller on the end of its tail, which acts as a rudder. The reason for the counter-rotation is to prevent the machine starting to spin in the same direction as a single rotor.
It is also being chased by a Spitfire, because it's a decent model I should use more. :D
