Some mythical snakes circle the globe and herald the end of everything by the release of their own tail, being diabolic abominations.
Some mythical snakes torment mortals until the gods get to stomp them for propaganda, being satanic archetypes.
Some mythical snakes hold up the world and create mortal races to populate it, being kind mother goddesses.
Some mythical snakes fight great heroes until felled by trickery and booze, being dangerous beasts to glorify their foes.
Some mythical snakes outsize the entire universe and sing the glories of the omnipotent, being emblems of divine majesty.
What type of mythical snake do you think you're looking at?
It may surprise you to know that there are no wrong answers...
Only answers you may regret.
Oh boy it's a new character! Specifically a madcap adaptation of an ancient mythical monster who might never have been intended to be so much as properly visualized. Approaching that spicy taboo from a different direction than usual, that's my schtick apparently.
Either way, meet Janys! She's an anthropomorphic Yamata no Orochi utilizing the famous eight heads, eight tails, one body design (the coat of moss and trees will be showing up only if she decides to put on a damn shirt) there's certainly more to this character than that; but a picture is not a bad way to start...
Especially not when it's a really nice one from

Oh, and, as thanks for your care and attention, I'm actually running a contest! The first person to guess in the comments why she's named Janys wins a free mini-story from me. There is quite some thorough hinting in the picture description.

Giant snakes are always great, especially giant tittysnakes, so this is something I'm hugely (ha!) fond of. They always look their best no matter how infinitely big their perfectly proportioned body gets. To answer your contest question though: is it because she can change her main body's appearance to match one of the other snakes? Becoming red, blue, black, etc. instead of maroon.
Got it in one!
I was thinking Apep rather than Apophis, but they're the same snake so I'm counting it. It was more of the figurative stomping in that clue, but since you still got it I probably didn't mess it up too bad. Note me or hit me up on discord to claim your prize!
...And thanks for playing.
