Welp, here it is. I tell you, guys, this was tough. Integration has become a very difficult thing to weave, and much of that has to do with poor planning. Plagued with constant uncertainty on how to continue, crushing self doubt over the quality of my work after such long inactivity, and the struggles with getting back into the mindsets of the characters... it's one heck of a beast to tackle! I hope my work continues to live up to what you lot expect, but I can't expect it to be of the same quality after such a long time of nothing. Life has changed a lot, and it doesn't seem to leave much room for Integration in its wake. At this point I'd say something about hoping to not take so long next time, but we all know that never seems to work out. :D
Hope you all enjoy!

Just realised I haven't updated my comment.
I love it so much.
Your writting have somehow matured and I really appeciated what you did with Cody, making him more human and less of some sort of "fetish-story-character".
It's also nice to see the relation between kira and dylan evolve and I'm quite curious to see how all of this will go (if this will go somewhere at all x) )
Lastly, I may be the only one, but Maduk is starting to grow on me, yes he's a prick but his fear of uto species related to something in his past start to paint some kind of darker side of the Uto (darker is a strong word... let's just say a few fail to see humans as other thing that toys for their amusment, like the previous handler of cody and his friends)
Anyway, can't wait for the next update! Keep up the good work!

Cody regularly bugged me as too much of a nod to certain fans, but I thought he deserved more than that, so I was happy to apply some depth to his personality.
And I'm glad you see something with Maduk. He's a bit tough to write, but it's doubtful he's doing what he does purely out of maliciousness. Everyone just hates the guy, but I don't blame them. He's still a bag of dicks! :D

Okay. Now that I read it, I can assure you that your fears are for naught. This is definitely one of the best chapters in the series. And that cliffhanger of an ending, oh my... it was such a surprise. I thought that Maduk was planning something completely different.
Anyways, thank you for writing this story. You have no idea how much joy it brought me seeing another chapter. Hopefully, the rest of them won't be as hard to write.

Was so happy to see this in my submission box. ^_^ It's been a while.
MORE KIRA AFFECTIONS!!! :D
And oh my... That part of Dylan feeling quite turned on. If I read that correctly, perhaps... Dylan and Kira will become quite closer soon? :O I HOPE!!!!! Such a great character couple these two sweeties make.
Anyway, yay. Great chapter. Hope to see the next one soon. :3

I had a goofy grin on my face for like 90% of this one.
Trying to think of some good feedback beyond "A few typos, but thoroughly enjoyable."
Well, first of all, the power armor stuff. All of that was awesome to read--edge of my seat, fully immersed kind of thing. I was as excited as Dylan and Cody were to see what they could do, and as pleased as they were to finally feel themselves to be on the same level as their guardians. You really nailed that part, bravo.
I did not see the twist at the end coming, and it was excellent. Made complete sense after I wrapped my head around it, and it makes for perfect drama and such.
The scenes revolving around Dylan and Kira's bond were sweet, as usual.
I appreciated the discussion around Cody joking like he does with Yirshan because of how it makes him feel more like he's on her level.
As I said at the top, there were some typos, mostly involving commas, and more than a few instances of tense confusion, but nothing too major.
And it made sense for the AI not to be around in this part, but I hope to see them around again sometime!

Lol, yea I was thinking Cody and Yirshan were going to be the comic relief for the furry community in a way.
Even though it's been a while, it's still one of my favorites and another good chapter at that.
And hey, Dylan's finally gotten his shiny new armor! Hopefully it wont get in the way of lupari affections...

Hetzer, when I was a kid I used to write stories. I couldn't stop myself from putting pen to paper. But I couldn't hold onto any one story. I always fell short of my dreams. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy this. How much I wish I could lose myself in the world you've created and just spend my chasing after adventure with Dylan and Kira. Please, don't give up on this. Through you, I get to see a part of me that made it. I get to see what could have been, and what could still be if I had the time and effort. It's liberating. It's amazing. I love your work, I love your writing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Aw, hell, talk about touching. It's an absolute delight seeing people happy over the continuation. I wish I could lose myself in the world, too. I think about it probably every day. a little imagination over this world, and a little warm feeling follows. Even if it takes me years, I don't have any plans to let Integration die. I don't like how it takes me so long to update the thing, but it's not because I'm not interested in it. It's something else about myself. Integration will reach its ending, and I hope it won't take so long now, but it won't be left unfinished. I'd tear myself apart.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to give more in the nearer future.

It's about god damned time...
But it was all worth the wait. I'm glad you didn't let me read it early or proof it Hetz. Thank you for that, as the experience of going in mostly cold to read it all was most enjoyable. Like how it felt reading the earlier chapters when you first introduced me to your wonderful setting. I loved this one just as much as the first, third, tenth, and all other chapters. I can't wait to see the next one now and hope it comes sooner than later.
Bravo my friend.

So I just binged the entire series in a day. I am looking forward to seeing how well humans hold a grudge. I have had this thought in the back of my head the entire time. I think that if UTC didn't get involved for a few more days or weeks humanity either would have nuke the earth and any spaceships the could out of spite or submitted to subjectstion and start a long term guerilla/terrorism campaign against the rydar. You know full scale arm for an eye genocide attempts.
Also I was just thinking about what would be happening back on earth. I know that earth's military industrial complexes wont just roll over and die and i was just thinking about the tank that they would design to deal with the rydar. As long as the tech is flowing freely I believe they would try to make an upscaled MBT with some new tech integration. Seeing as to how effective kinectic weapons are against the rydar in the same scale simulations. A p1000 sized or larger Abrams basically several meters of composite ceramic armour cover in carbon carbon insulation tiles like the underside of the scape shuttle. Then on top of that a bolt on heat management system from the utc but instead of a heat sink at the back preventing it as getting used as cover it would be a large water tank at the back that would boil away over time allowing for a far greater ability to soak up heat and quick cool down by just refilling on water. The armour combined with the fact that it would like be designed for humans and have large amount of room to space out components would allow to excellent survivability and the cost of the freedom of movement that hover tanks provide. If you then couple this with a large railgun due to the not almost unlimited energy supply available you would have a tank that would be almost completely impervious to rydar attacks and could easily one shot any enemy vehicle. Especially considering at that scale you could have thermonuclear sabots.
Also I don't think many utc species would like to be close to a railgun when it fires they are still basically as loud as normal guns.

One last thing I dont know much about the aerospace situation for the utc but I could see kinetic weapons becoming a bit more popular and humans being to primary operators of them. I also can see humans providing a good deal of antikinetic armour knowledge to refit the spacecraft.
I just finished reading all the chapters so far in the last few days and... wow. It's been a while since I've been so captivated by a story and it's been even longer since I felt so many different emotions while reading one, but I immediately fell in love with the universe of Integration while reading chapter one. The characters are great and you wrote their emotions, thoughts, and the whole story wonderfully; I enjoyed every second of reading! Thank you so much for writing this story and sharing it here, I'm really looking foward to the next chapter!
Varies, but the average lupari like Kira is 70 feet tall. Arkatians approach 90, the smallest with the rodents are about 50 feet. Clarifying heights is something that needs to be done in any revision. Would unfortunately be awkward to write narration explaining it this late in the series now. Awf...
But, glad you enjoyed it! Always love hearing how someone binged on it.

Thank you so much! It's always absolutely fantastic hearing about interest outside of the macro fandom, or even the overall fandom. Some of it needs some work in hindsight to distance more from certain macro kink references, but I hope it can one day be a story that can draw interest from more general audiences. Almost certainly a pipe dream, but I'm ever the optimist!
Addressing your first comment, exploring alien reactions to human pop culture is super fun to think about and explore a bit, as seen with the Matrix part in this series. There's a finished fan story that touches just a bit on some human music, but not too much exploration in pop culture like this. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/30981321/
Trickiest part though, is trying to come up with alien pop culture for humans to react to, and get a bit of an equal exchange going.
As for drinks, the most common discussion I've seen about that is how the UTO races might react to alcohol. Fans often say aliens would get super drunk on a small amount of human booze, and alien alcohol would be fairly light stuff to humans. I don't know the scientific/biological truth to that, but those chats have been fun to see.

Ahhh, thank you, and for the earlier kind comment too. One day I might look to publishing it, whenever I finally finish the thing. (At this point I don't have any good excuses!) But, once it's done, I have a mind for a number of revisions for it. I'd like to share that online, too, but my understanding is publishers don't like that. But, that's for the future, after I graduate, once I have more time to focus on my work.
Ideally, they'd never need to use nuclear weapons, but it was important to stop the rynar from acquiring a nuclear armed species and the immediate access to such weapons. Nuclear energy might not be of much use to non-humans, but will be a direction humans will most certainly go.
It's so refreshing to see a story with size-difference being explored in such a realistic way without going into details about... intimate stuff. The flashbacks are always so gripping and shocking, the transition both in and out of the flashbacks for Dylan are so disturbingly lifelike and relatable. It just makes the friendship, banter and cute stuff hit just that much harder to heart.
It has been such a joy to have read through their journeys together. Just tremendous work in every regard!
I'd be overwhelmed with joy to see a continuation, at some point. Good luck with your studies and graduation!

Thank you so much! Their relationship is always so fun to write, whenever I get back on the writing wagon. There's certain things I wish I could do better, but those would be saved for the hopeful reduxed complete version one day.
As for continuation, I'm working on a side story in the setting that... does get into intimate stuff. Unrelated to Integration and indeed, it's 130 years after it. Once that project is complete, it's straight into gunning for the end of Integration. Been fighting myself to get back to work and expand my setting, and now that summer is here, I've no excuse!

My outlining has it at two chapters left. That's not always a guarantee with how often I find I need more to properly pace a plot, but I'm fairly confident in two. Then it's onward to new projects in the setting, which will either be the war for Earth prequel to this one, or a few decades into the future with a new wartime narrative.
An Igneus Terra redux is the most likely scenario. Sometimes I think Integration should have been an Igneus Terra redux, but I didn't want to redo what I did all those years ago. But now that I've unwittingly ended up with a fanbase that would like to see a redux, I feel it's what will be next.
I just finished my 2nd binge-through! (On my first time around you had made it up to chapter 9, I think.)
This series, the characters, and the whole premise/setting are very appealing and compelling. I adore the concepts of gentle Macro/micro and of confronting one's fears and discovering that sometimes the "monster" you fear is actually just misunderstood. (My English teacher called it "conflicting paradigms".) Bonus points if said monster actually wants to befriend the fearer. (And experiences a bit of existential angst because of it.)
Thus, I am already beginning to love the 2 new characters you introduced at the end of this chapter! There is so much good potential for character development! (No spoilers!)
Also, I really appreciate the way you portray the struggle of PTSD. I have not suffered with it myself, but I have worked with quite a few who have. And much like for Dylan, there seems to be no quick cure.
Please be encouraged! Your writing is on par with many published sci-fi / fantasy authors I've read (Robert Heinlein and Brandon Sanderson come to mind, as well as Leo Frankowski's book "A Boy and His Tank").
Looking forward to more!

Ahhh, thank you so much! Got me blushing over here. It's been so fun seeing the gentle macro/micro crowd gobbling up this story. I am rather proud of this story for that, but there have been numerous problems in its creation that a professional author likely would not have run into. It has been one heck of a learning experience in how to write a long narrative.
The two new sissach... goodness, we're reaching the critical point for Dylan. As I've been working on the latest chapter, I've been very antsy over these two new characters and how to portray them well in what length is left in the story. Hopefully I won't disappoint! It's thrilling seeing people eager to see more of them.

Don't burden yourself with thinking you have to get your works out ASAP. Either you have extreme talent, or you know that you don't write a story like this in just a month. As long as you're strolling about, you'll stumble into destiny's lap and she'll smile down at-- and nuzzle you~
so just read my way through a second time. its all i can think about at work. This is one amazing story you have been writing, its so well thought out, has parts which just make me laugh no matter how many times i read it.
Trying to get back into writing myself, would love to do a world similar to this one :P (New to the world of macro's)

i don't think even with armor you would survive falling the length of a football field without some sort of pain. it's not the fall that kills you, but the sudden stop at the end. rapid deceleration from a long fall like that would cause organ ruptures.
