The first page of my new comic series, Doll Hauz.
Kimmy has decided that she's done being plain ol Kimberly Dole... now that her nanomod license has come in, she's about to undergo a shift into her inanimate self, Kimmy Doll.
Backgrounds aren't my forte, but I kind of wanted to make this look like "the future". Kimmy and her girlfriend Vixen, live in a small apartment in a cramped ultra city. I hope that comes across in the background I made. ^_^;
Kimmy lives in a world where nanotechnology allows people to modify themselves in any number of ways.
After obtaining her nanomodification permit, Kimmy decides to transition into doll life, though after doing so, she feels she no longer fits in with the world at large due to her shiny appearance and jointed appendages.
Kimmy, and others like her who modify their bodies into normally stationary material are known as "inanimates" (even though they're normally quite capable of mobility). Inanimates further break down into classes like pool toys, dolls, trees and plants, goo, statues etc.

Briefly reminded me of a story I wrote a while back, where just about everyone has nanostuff in their body. There used to be shops where you could buy upgrades; more advanced changes cost more for the programming. The anthro species pack was the first one to be a real hit, so much that being human is no seen as super weird. Being able to control transformations from your phone is new and expensive, an upgrade of the base technology, and older people get all preachy about inanimate transformations.
I think our characters are transforming in really different ways with similar technology. This will be fun to read ^_^

I would say there are bird people, yes... But I don't know how prominently they would feature in the comic. I'm kind of rubbish at drawing birds and wings. ^_^;
