So here is a concept I have for shadow dragons of my fictional universe that I’m making. And yes they have quills all over. Couldn’t help myself but add quills. Especially because my dragons overall have some design inspiration from dinosaurs, as I explained in my water dragon concept piece. In the case of shadow dragons, their skulls would be a bit like the skulls of carcharodontosaurids, and seeing how some paleoart gives them quills, I decided to try it on my shadow dragons (and some of my fire dragons as well to be honest). Another detail you may have noticed is that my winged dragons don’t have the typical bat wings. I wanted to try making them more pterosaur-like (also admittedly I’m a bit lazy when it comes to trying bat wings 😝)..
The skull was kinda drawn randomly but I just decided to finish and include it since I was using the scan app for this as always.
