So here we have another part to that mystery build I'm working on. This will eventually be a deathroller/front axle for the monstrous creation I'm building.
HOWEVER, it needs nobblies/spikies, and I'm low on funds. I don't have enough spear heads lying around to use those. I was toying with making it look like the grots tack-welded bits of scrap to the thing. You know, a squashed guard helmet here, a broken Imperial Aquila emblem there, maybe a marine shoulder pad or an orc fantasy shield boss icon...
Thoughts? Ideas for alternate options that don't cost a lot since I'm kind of on a tight budget at the moment?

These are all great ideas! I wonder where my soldering iron went to... put something into that to make melted spots from a plasma cannon or something, and I definitely have some epoxy putty lying around!
Tygon suggested I use cut up chunks of sprue as well. I think I'll use ALL of these ideas! It is a BIG roller, after all...

Hadn't thought of that one. Trying to gouge and dent the roller isn't working too well, as I made it out of a piece of 1/4" thick PVC pipe. Gluing spiky bits to it is working fairly well though. I think I can pick up some textured spray base at work. Have to see what I can come up with.
Yes, I know this. I sell power tools for a living. Alas, it turns out that most glues don't stick to PVC plumbing pipe well, and the ones that DO don't stick to styrene/GW plastics well. ^><^ Time to go an alternate route: I'm gonna wrap this thing in .010" plastic sheet and dent the crap out of THAT.
