The archeological garden in the historical center of Frankfurt, between the cathedral and the city hall was recently reopend. This reconstruction shows Frankfurt (or "Franconovurd)in the year 860 AD. The roman roadstation and the wooden bridge have been gone for centuries. On the foundations of the roadstation a royal court, a Pfalz has been errected, surroundet bey small wooden houses and a wooden palisade. On the right side of the complex is the earliest version of Frankfurts cathedral. Over the next 1000 years the cathedral gradiually will be extendet, remodelt, torndown, rebuild and modernized untill it has its current form ( http://deacademic.com/pictures/dewi.....erner_Steg.jpg ). In that time Louis the German, king of East Francia (what was later known as Germany) made this Pfalz his main residence, technically making Frankfurt capital of his realm.
