Phoenix Sawyer, is a young woman who was born to a Sun Elf engineer named Octavia and a human merchant 'prince' named Clarence Sawyer. Clarence was a single parent raising Phoenix, more often called by her last name, after Octavia was forced to return home to Summerkand and did not want her newborn daughter sold off, so she left her with her father, hoping to reunite someday. When Phoenix was 14 years old, her and Clarence were set upon by bandits who were trying to steal her Fathers wares. Phoenix, at the time, was still learning CQC, close quarters combat, with Guantlets her Father gave her. They both sustained terrible injuries, but Clarence fell ill from his wound becoming infected and passed away, leaving Sawyer orphaned. She traveled alone all throughout the Empire of Man doing odd jobs and was hardly turned away since she frequently mistaken for a boy. As she traveled she had heard tales of a man named Solomon Kuramo, Orc Slayer and Savior to the Forgotten; he was called and he was recently appointed to be a Count under Empress Vivienne, the Count of Larkwell. Phoenix traveled to the capital of the Empire to see this man whom she'd grown to admire and saw him bedridden, his arms broken, and placed above his head to aid in reducing swelling and aid in healing. She asked him for work and was accepted for Solomon was interested in using her skills as the child of a Merchant.
