Meet the Vesperwisp! (Vesper for short.) For this species sheet, I used my Gryphon sona’s (Tylo’s) markings. The Vesperwisp is an open species.
Species: Vesperwisp (Aka the "Vesper")
Drake-like, but not in the dragon family. It is in its own classification: wisp.
Origin: The planet Vesper. However, populations are known on other planets.
Average (standard) height: 10'0" (3 m)
Average (standard) weight: 1500 lbs. (680 kg)
(Males and Females are similar in size and there are no major differences besides repro. parts)
Basic anatomical build:
Its body is covered in feathers rather than fur, and its muzzle and feet are featherless and scaly. Its dorsal side and chest are the most thick with feathers. It carries most of its weight in its abdomen, however, some Vespers can be quite slender. Its whiskers are like ultra-long, slender, pliable feathers. It has small retractable claws. The bottom portion of each ear has less cartilage than the upper ear parts, and is a bit floppy.
Forms: (The Vesperwisp is capable of changing into 3 different forms.)
- Standard: Its default and largest form
- Shrunken: The more "travel sized" morph. About 1'6" (320 mm) and 25 lbs (11.3 kg)
- Core: A sperical, glass-like ball that is about the size and weight of a grapefruit. They glow brightly at night and are mistaken for spirits of the dead.)
Colors: Wide ranges of colors. Their ears often have butterfly or moth-like patterns. Distinguishing marks are most often on their chests, shoulders, or on their ears. Their eyes have a wide range of color also, and they have slit pupils.
Abilities: Vesperwisps have a wide-ranging abilities. Some Vespers are better at physical abilities, while others excel more at psychic and elemental abilities.
- Speech: Vespers have the ability to learn to speak, by either spoken word or through telepathy.
- Flight: Vespers have the natural ability to fly without wings, similar to an eastern dragon. They may be heavy, but they are very light on their feet.
- Elemental breath: Vespers can breathe fire, ice, or poison. Their element depends on their lineage.
- Transformation: Between any of their three forms. They transform with a "poof".
Basic biology:
- Omnivore.
- Mostly diurnal
- Has nictitating membranes (third eyelids, like a snake)
- Peaceful and not very aggressive. They are curious, but maintain distance to new things and new aquaintances
- When hot, they pant (they do not stick their tongues out quite like canines, however. They pant more like a cat.)
- Egg-laying mammal
- Eggs are about 1'6" (320 mm) and 25 lbs (11.3 kg)
- Genitalia is canine-like
- Vespers have fluffy foreheads, and the males' foreheads turn a brighter color when they desire to attract a mate.
Sounds:
-Adult: tiger-like chuffs, moans, and "moos". Lion-like roar.
-Baby/shrunken: Baby leopard sounds
Also, they "wag" the floof at the very ends of their tails when they are happy!
