Laylat al-Qadr
>> "The Night of Power/Decree/Measure" is (depending on who you ask) the night when the first verses of the Qur'an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel. The actual date of this is actually uncertain, though it is definitely one of several nights within the last week of the month of Ramadhan. (Just to keep people on their toes, presumably.)
Various legends are attributed to this event, including the descent of Allah's angels unto the Earth to bless those who are in prayer, until their return by dawn.
