Hardbody can transform her body into a stone-like form with super-strength and considerable resistance to injury. There are some drawbacks - she has no sense of smell of touch in this form, she "hears" with her entire body instead of just her ears which can be quite disorienting, and she has a vulnerability to sonic or vibration-based attacks. But generally the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. She's very, very hard to hurt.

In contrast to her appearance, Hardbody is more likely to be found on the couch curled up with a book than out pounding somebody's head. She acts as the group's conscience, often putting her heavy foot down when she feels they are going too far or doing something that's just unacceptable. It's a tough job, but she's a tough girl.

Her power isn't inspired by Colossus (who I never liked) but by another Marvel character - Diamond Lil. Originally Hardbody's powers were pretty much the same, she didn't have super-strength but was invulnerable. But when I went to draw her I had a rough sketch where she was smooth (no fur effects added yet) and I hadn't drawn her pupils. I thought that looked kind of neat so I changed her power to be one of transformation. Lost a little of the toughness but picked up super-strength. Fair trade I guess.
