No bullshit, I'm not lying.
1 is a crack in my bathroom ceiling that now since it's gotten worse pours water when it rains. I have another smaller leak on the other side of the bathroom. I just took these pictures today. And I have debris on my floor from the crack falling worse. (Likely raising my power bill )
2. NONE of my outlets accessable work accept for the bathroom, I have all the extension cords leading from the bathroom to my room so if anybody needs to charge their phone the bathroom.is still open for usage, which I'm sure is a safety hazard but what can you do?
I am scared to plug in my computer since I'm not sure if it'll blow the last outlet out, so I just use it to change my tablet.
A WEEK ago it happened. That morning my main work outlets blew out when i was asleep. Later on that day I heard electricity. The lights flickered and since then the only sources of power other then the AC are the bathroom outlets and the stove outlet.
Fortunately. Out boiler thing was replaced and after it not working for 24 hours instead of the 12 told to us the maintenance man came by and fixed it , although he did a messy job and I feel they shouldn't send a "jack of all trades" they should send sombody who is efficient and knows their craft.

I hope so too, I was told a week wait and my outlets will be fixed--its been a week.
This house is OLD 1900's the entire house needs to be rewired. Grounded and 2 program outlets also have to be upgraded. I have a specific outlet made for old high power vacuum cleaners and it blew out two sharks -_-'

It is scary, especially with that noise I heard most of this houses foundation is made of wood. I even have a corner or the floor in the back of the house where the floor rotted out so bad it collapsed in that spot.
I am a renter, their "Mr. Fix it" is more like a jack of all trades but master of none, I need an actual professional to make sure it doesn't happen again.
I'm sure the whole house needs to be rewired.

oh my god... no no no go to the authorities or report it to the building department in your area. This is unacceptable and my god that house looks like its about to fall in on you or burn down. Im very worried for your saftey i will help you any way i can to get you something safe but i seriously would consider moving anything important out of that house and some where safe even if you have to put it in the trunk of your car. what you describe is a serious electrical problem and i know moving mya not be an option but i personally wouldnt feel safe at all living there. I also fear you could get electric shock from shorting things or something might be touching something it shouldnt and you get shocked. Please be very careful if you tell me the state your in ill begin looking for ways to help you report this. This would not be allowed even in the backwards s tate of alabama. Please trust me when I tell you this , we stayed at a hotel not too long ago that was aweful and had similar issues and not even a few weeks later the place caught on fire please start taking action now . I hope you can get help asap the cracks that i see look like rotted wood and water damage that place is in major need of serious fixes
That's what I am afraid of, when I heard the zap, I went around the hose smelling to make sure nothing caught fire. I've been feeling unsafe for a while my front door knob even broke, when I first moved in since it was hard to open I asked them if they would give us a new one and nope . The guy they send here swears he can fix it but it's broken. He said he would come back when it wasn't raining and it hasn't rained for a few days to fix the socket. Outlet issue , then they would fix the hole, and it's already been a week, one more week and I believe they can get in trouble given the nature of the issues. I say in Georgia, my roomie has already been shocked a few times before the weird surge? Once on the stove which sent the current through water in a pot. Another plugging up the microwave and again in the bathroom all within a week. There is water damage to the windows and bathroom ceiling. We pulled up cheap carpet in places that don't need carpet like in the laundry room which was hiding the hole in the floor from rotting wood and old lilonium and where our fridge was and the lilonium there has been there since I think this place has been built. I didn't even think you could get water damage on lilonium. from what I've noticed living here almost a year this place will cost them over $40k to fix the wiring in the house , it needs to be leveled again, walking on my floor feels like you can fall through the floor. My pantry door doesn't open. The floor has swollen so much it prevents the door from opening fully, among other things. I've been pushing my roomie to keep constant contact with them and sadly we are both scared if we keep complaining they'll evict us like my last landlord did when I had a leak and mold. We can't afford to move and this house already costs $50 more then the last one.
Well ..to be honest from what you just told me that place is condemned you should not even be living there in this conditoin and the fact you already have nearly been killed or injured from electric shock due to not being kept up is all the red flag i need. I believe you could sue the hell out of them , i would go around and take pictures of EVERYTHING every thing and if you can record it do so. But i suggest you seriously start moving any imporant documents or items out of that house. I am afraid its a death trap now because of their negligence to fix the place. I know you hate to have to keep complaining but the point is they are not doing their job at all as a renter and is illegal. I believe you could sue on the count of personal injury and if anything you own has been destroyed because of these issues you got a claim there too. I know this will not be easy but you really should report this all to the Building inspector. If you dont do something they are going to just do this to someone else or someone else or you is going to get killed because of the negligence and I am hoping we canvoid this i will help in any way I can. If you would like to note me I can see what I can find out there to give you a hand i also have several friends who live in GA as well who may be able to help you further. I cant sit back and not do something to help you at this point and i think the best thing for you to do is to report this , it is unsafe and I strongly believe one of you is going to get seriously hurt. The whole electric thing I was talking about you described with the stove and microwave i am afraid it could happen to you in the shower or something else that is not grounded properly. This kind of shorting as i said before also can cause fire and smoke detectors do not always warn you fast enough. I am just appalled and shocked they were allowed to keep renting this place in such a terrible condition they get over on people because they dont know what to do to light a fire under these slum lords asses and like your previous one if you had reported it im pretty sure you are not the only victim.
Is it? I didn't know that :0
I've been keeping pictures of the crack. You can see progress in how it's been getting bigger, I have pictures of the small leak. The hole in the floor, the boiler but they replaced that with a new one since it could have exploded. I told them , again. We need a new front door knob , so. I have some pictures, copy's of text messages sent, we have to write a letter and make a copy just in case the court system will have to be put in a place. Since this state is more helpful to landlords then tenants, the office has been pretty swift about the boiler but it seems like everything else is on a stand still? As far as documents go I keep them.in my room in a folder . Our bathroom.ks pretty empty, I was expecting constant people in and out of the house to fix instead of one guy? These issues seem like a team effort and I am literally always on the house I don't leave >< I don't know how long I should give them to send sombody before calling code enforcement?

i know this may not be what you want to hear but i seriously suggest you start looking for some one else immediately I really dont want you to get hurt or killed with this crap. I wish i was closer i would help you myself but unfortunately i live a good 5-6 hours away traffic depending. If i knew what part of GA you lived I can see if my other pals would be able to give you a hand. I know one that is trust worthy is in Dalton and I have some in Atlanta.
I can't afford it :/
(If I get hurt that's a law suit and if I die my grandma will be rich right?)
But no, seriously. We moved here on an emergency , last landlord evicted us for taking him to court for similar issues leaks, mold, water damage., Mildew from somewhere in my closet and it was making me sick.
Most places aren't pet friendly and I have five fur children four I've had since they where extremely young. I'm in the Macon area , it's cheap here but combined we only make enough to.pay $500-550 in rent with three people .><

im so sorry you are having to go through this and i know there is no easy answer for this situation like i said i have been in your shoes before and honestly that land lord did an illegal action kicking you like that because you tried to make them do what a landlord is supposed to DO. There are some lawyers who will take the case and you dont pay anything if you dont win you only pay when you do and they will take a cut and you get the rest. I can look around to see about that however you have two choices, you can not say anything and hope to god one of you doesnt get killed or hurt.. or you can go to the building inspector and tell them , show them the hell hole you are in and they are SUPPOSED to help you find another place to stay but if multiple homes are like this that the slum lord is renting.. there is a chance they will have to put everyone out that is condemned.... I know you must not have a lot of options but i can do my best to try and find you something on the budget you have. The previous land lord was a dick and salty because he was being reprimanded for not doing what a landlord was supposed to. There has got to be something you guys can do i wish there was a way you could come here there are a lot of places affordable in this area for about that amount but i realize moving 5-6 hours away is not an option either I know the grass always doesnt seem greener on the other side but It is something you could think about. Let me do some research for you and see what I can come up with that may help you. Hang in there friend i know it is tough
It is pretty tough when you aren't made of money.
Like, I like this house a lot it's spacious and has nice potential
We're going to have to call them tomorrow again since today they where closed .
That landlord was a dick. He tried twice to evict us the second time it actually worked. I'm not sure what came of that old.house.
Thank you ;_;

Hey i have my friend from Dalton looking around he found a place for 450.00 a month 2 bed at 1076 Thomas street , are you wanting a house or a apartment ? we are looking now to try and help you. He also found a 3 bed for 550.00 at 1239 Schley Street , 1716 3rd Avenu has a spot for 495 a month 2 bed . You could work around sleeping arrangements with a couch or futon and rotate who gets to sleep where but these are a few options we were able to find in the area.
Girl, are guys possibly looking for anything else? Like an apartment for just you two?? That's crazy!! (Even though I can relate, my house is honestly garbage too but we can't afford to move.
I hope they fix up your place! Especially the outlets because that's bull they're making you deal with that! I'm pretty sure you could take out repair costs out your rent if you get it fixed yourself! >:(
