Oh yeah, he is especially affectionate. when he used to go out of the cage for "playtime", he would run right over to me and want to curl up in my lap for petting. xD Now, even though he is very old and his legs don't work very well, he still gets excited when I call his name, and he wriggles around trying to get closer to me. x3 It's a little sad to see, but I am happy that I make him so happy.

I once had a rat named Mus. She was SOOO in love with me. Anytime I walked past the cage, she would jump up and put her paws through the bars and open and close her paws at me like, "come here, come here!" because she knew that any time she did that, I would take her out and hug her. x3 She was such a good girl!

That's really cute =] I think I remember from one of your other posts that you said he was like that. You are making me wanna get one. Lol =P And Mus sounds like she was lucky to have you as a buddy Does it take a lot to raise one? =o

Hmmm...well, all you need is a nice roomy cage (Martin's cages has some good ones!), some good bedding (CareFresh is a good brand! Wood chips are bad for the rats!), a water bottle, and food (Mazuri is a good brand!). They need their bedding changed once a week, and fresh food and water every day. The like to have a friend, so you should get two. And, you need to give them attention at least once a day, either by letting them roam around a safe room, or by holding them and petting them and playing with them.

They are very easy to care for! And they are very, very sweet animals. :3
