Even though he was wrapped in a thick furry coat, the orc's body was still shaking like a leaf in the wind. Teeth clattering as he pulled his clothing closer to his body while his feet trudged through the thick layer of snow. The strong cold wind slowed down his progress as he tried to make his way back into town. The animals were fed, the stables cleared out, the horses were brushed. Which meant Uzul had the rest of the night to himself, unfortunately for him, the farm he worked at as a farmhand was several miles away from the town which meant he'd have a long walk every time he wanted to get himself a drink. Which wasn't that much of a problem during the spring and summer time, then it was actually quite pleasant to be out. But winter had fallen over the kingdom, which meant his progress was hindered greatly. Luckily the small flickering lights of the town slowly came into view and before the orc even knew it he was stumbling his way through main street, closing in on his goal.
Before him stood the Iron Tusk, a local tavern. One that Uzul frequently visited in his spare time for more than just the booze they served. As he opened the door, he was met with the warm, pleasant and cozy air as it washed over his body. Quickly he closed the door, shutting the freezing cold with it. The place was already quite packed with a large variety of people. Well it mainly consisted of men, but they came in all shapes and sizes, which was probably the reason Uzul liked to visit this place so much.
There was a small group of dwarves gathered up at one of the tables, laughing, cheering, drinking beer like nobody's business. They were quite loud for such small creatures, but no one seemed to be bothered as their abundance of cheerfulness added to the atmosphere. Scattered about, many other races could be found, some bunched up together like the dwarves, keeping to themselves, others preferred to mingle with other kin. A large bull was leaning against the fireplace, warming up his fur while chatting up an orc. Big, bulky man covered in scars and tattoos. One of his tusks was broken off ad it seemed like he was blind in his left eys. Yet the bull did not seem to be appalled by it as he trailed a finger over the orc's cheek, inching closer towards him. Clearly things were heating up in more than one way!
As Uzul made his way to the bar he noticed a couple of the city guards laughing away at another table, drinking on their off duty hours. One he recognized as the captain of the guard, normally a stern looking gorilla, but tonight he seemed the be rather loose and even slightly flirty. Perhaps it was something that this place did to you, the moment you step over the threshold of the Iron Tusk, all your worries simply seem to wash away, allowing you to have fun and forget all about your troubles.
Uzul sat down at one of the free barstools, with a human warrior to his right and rat like creature to his left. The human clearly had been going at it for a while having some trouble keeping himself steady on his barstool, but he wasn't really bothering anyone. Not even the orc as he took seat next to him. Though the moment he sat down, Uzul could feel his stomach turn into a tight knot, remembering that today was suppose to be the day he was going to ask him... it! All day he had been preparing himself, testing out his speech to one of the farmer's horses, memorising it. yet now that he found himself here, he realized he had forgotten everything! Every last word has been drained from his skull, vanished into thin air!
At that same moment, a large presence took up the empty spot before him and the orc was met with a charming tusked smile. “Good evening.” the deep and slightly gravelly voice addressed him. “What'll it be tonight?” It was the bartender and owner of the establishment. Bromok, last name unknown to mostly everyone.
Already the young orc could feel his cheeks fluster up with a slight shade of red. perhaps not so much that it was immediately noticeable, but the more he thought about it, the more embarrassed he got, the redder his face became! “Ehm... the usual, sir,,,”
“Ah, a big mug of warm ale to beat off the cold huh? Looks like you had yourself a tough day out there in the snow! Can't imagine what the must be like!” The orc spoke in a kind and friendly tone. His face decorated with a warm affectionate smile that only tightened the knot in the young orc's stomach. With a loud thud, a large mug of warm ale was placed in front of Uzul to which he immediately wrapped his hands around to warm himself up. Fingers trembling slightly. But that definitely wasn't from the cold.
Like having a sixth sense about these things, Bromok leaned closer, speaking in an almost fatherly tone. “Something the matter kid? You seemed a bit troubled by something today.”
To which Uzul replied in a startling manner, surprised by the orc's sudden inquiry. “What? Oh no not really....” Yet his face betrayed him as he kept avoiding eye contact with the other orc. His size both intimidating yet inviting at the same time as it almost seem to loom over the younger orc.
Bromok raised an eyebrow, clearly not impressed by Uzul's lie. “Kid, I've known you for a while now, i can tell when you're lying to me. Now spit it out boy. You don't want to me to force it out of you now do you? I can be very persuasive as you already know!” That last part would have sounded like a threat to most, but Uzul knew better. That deep rumbling voice of the elder shook him to the very core of his being. He was unsure of how to even bring a subject like this up in a normal conversation. So how would he go about doing that in front of an orc like this?
With his heart pounding painfully in his chest, the young orc met with Bromok's gaze as the question suddenly burst passed his lips before he even realized. “Will you be my Udaak!”
The question was met with a long almost unbearable silence from the barkeep, until he finally broke out in laughter. His large gut shaking as he did, making the younger orc feel even more embarrassed as he noticed a tear well up in the corner of Bromok's eye from all the laughter. “M-me? Your Udaak? You are so funny boy!” Yet Bromok quickly realized that Uzul had not been joking, even looking a bit defeated by Bromok's reaction. With a few chuckles still escaping his lips, Bromok leaned forward onto the bar and forced Uzul to look at him. “Listen kid, if you just want to fuck around I'll take you upstairs with me, I'd love to share a bed with you But you don't have to go through all these lengths to do so!”
The mere mention of sex with the big orc caused Uzul to flare up to the max, his eyes looking around for just about anything to focus on. Anything but Bromok's face. He felt like he might have made a big mistake for asking this, yet at the same time, the urge to push the matter on held firm deep within the young orc's heart. Now that he broke the ice he had to push forward and hope he could somehow push passed this embarrassing moment.
“No... no it's not just about that... I mean, it's just.... I've never really had a good example. Someone to follow, someone i can learn from!”
A large hand suddenly grabbed hold of his chin, gently but firm, turning him to face Bromok. His laughter had ceased and instead of that, a genuine understanding smile had taken its place. His purple eyes locked on to the young orc causing his loins to stir but at the same time make him feel a bit queasy. “Listen kid, i feel very honored by your request, truely. But why on earth would you pick such a washed up orc like me to take up such a responsible job as being your Udaak. You need someone more responsible and definitively someone who is more capable then I am.”
“But who would be more capable than you?” Uzul quickly countered, vaguely remembering the speech we worked so hard for to prepare earlier that day. “The mage who single handedly broke through enemy lines at the battle of Ungamor fields! The orc that broke down the doors of the demon king's stronghold to free the captured soldiers! How could i not want someone like that as my Udaak!”
Feeling slightly proud by those words, Bromok chuckled. “Eh, never linger in the past boy, former glory should not be used to boast oneself! It turns wise men into fools. But i feel honored that you speak so highly of me.”
Before they could continue their conversation however, the drunken warrior next to them forced himself into their conversation. His speech bearably definable. “Heh.... so you orcs like... bang then? Ish this some kind of date thing?”
“Keep out of it Roderick!” Bromok's tone was low, slightly threatening, but the human didn't seem to be picking up on that as he blissfully continued on with his rant.
“I” Hic “Would so totally be you Ubleaak, boy! I'll fuck you when ever my dick gets hard, i do the same with my squire so i can easily add another fuckhole to that!”
“Thin ice Roderick!” Bromok warned yet again, though this tone was more cautionary. His eyes narrowed at the human. But it was clear that the warrior was too far gone to pick up on what the orc was hinting at.
“What? No ice is outside, silly orc! Orc so dumb ya kneuw? No I'm talking to my new fuck toy over here! Right... whazz your name? Eh who cares, come lets” Hic “Go to the stables, you know, get to know each other a little bwetter....” Hic “Pump you full of real man cum!”
He grabbed Uzul by his wrist but before he could even get off of his barstool, a large purple demon like claw grabbed him by his head and forced it down onto the bar with a loud smack. The human, though calm, replied with a drunken whoah! Not seeing that Bromok's hand was glowing with a dark shade of purple, fist clenched tightly.
“What did i tell you about mocking orcish traditions Roderick?”
Hic “Ehhhh ”
“Think harder Roderick” Bromok clenched his fist a little tighter, adding more pressure to the back of the human's head as Uzul looked at the scene in utter bewilderment. Did Bromok just defended him? Meanwhile it seemed like no one else in the bar was that surprised, some turned their head to the sudden commotion, others simply ignored it, already very familiar with Roderick working himself into a drunken offence.
“Oh oh! I remember.” Hic... “Bromuk say, don't make fuun of orcs, that very bad!”
To which Bromok replied, “That's right! Good boy!” And released the human. Who immediately looked around to see who it was that pushed him down and held him in place. Mumbeling, who wazz da? Twisting, turning making himself dizzier and dizzier before he finally made himself sick. Falling over onto the floor, spilling his beer all over himself.
“Don't worry about him!” Bromok said as he noticed Uzul trying to get up to help him. “That drunk fool tends to get himself into trouble on the daily! His body has gotten used to it.”
“But aren't you going to get into trouble for this? I heard he was one of the king's mercenaries!” Uzual added with a worried tone in his voice. Bromok however didn't seem to care at all, dismissively turning his head away from the sorry mess on the floor of his tavern.
“Eh, i wouldn't worry to much about it. I could prop him up on the bar, and fuck his ass for all to see and he still wouldn't remember it the next day. Even if someone told him about it. The fool thinks so highly of himself that it clouds his judgement. Told you didn't I? Former glory makes you blind? A free lessen for ya!”
Yet Uzul was after more then just one lesson. His young, pleading eyes looking up at Bromok, hopeful and full of eagerness. Bromok sighed. “Listen kid, are you really sure that you want this? I mean this means you're be stuck with me basically 24/7!” Merely mentioning that seemed to make the young orc even more excited. Those same eyes sparkling with joy! Drilling into the back of Bromok's skull, undenyable, unignorable. With a deep sigh the orc finally gave in, knowing there was no way he could reject the young man “Fine, fine fine... I'll be your Udaak, kid. But that means you'll have to quit your job at the farm and come work for me! Tomorrow we'll go to the market, I'm sure Rulkmog still has some traditional Udum clothes for you to wear!”
Uzul nearly jumped off of his seat, grabbing Bromok's hand and shaking it vigorously, for a brief moment forgetting all his insecurities as he nearly jumped over the bar to give the big orc a hug, only for those same insecurities rushing back into his head and realizing what he was doing. He froze in place, face washing red in shame as he bowed his head. “Eh... sorry sir. I got a little excited...”
With a grunt, Bromok shrugged his shoulders. “Its fine kid. Now go get your things, i want you here before I close up shop for tonight. Starting now, you'll become my Udum, that means we'll spend our first night together tonight. Now go!”
With renewed energy rushing through his body, Uzu bowed his head once more. “I'll be back as quick as I can sir!” And rushed over to the door leading outside. Without turning back, Uzul forced himself to meet with the cold blizzard outside once more. Yet now carrying hope in his heart, that for the time being overshadowed his insecurities and doubt. How long this would remain, probably not long, but for now it propelled the young orc through the icy storm.
As for the elder orc, he watched as Uzul ran out, whispering to himself. “Oh Bromok. What on earth did you get yourself into....” His own heart filled with a mixture of doubt, yet at the same time a certain pride and eagerness, knowing that for one whole year, that boy would be under his care. His rule. The fear of messing that poor boy up was of course a constant worry in the back of his mind. Yet he knew that perhaps he could have some positive influence on the boy. Only time would tell! After all, there was no turning back now.
