I <3 my boat.
I <3 being skipper.
I <3 sailing.
In case you are wondering, it is a 1961 Victory 21' sloop. It has approximately 185 sq. ft. of sail, a 500 pound keel and is darn fun to be at the tiller.
This was the last trip of the year. Unfortunately the hull is in need of some repairs, so I don't know if it is going back in next summer. Maybe I will have to fix up the catamaran if I am left without my boat.

I love boats... we had them in the family since I was very young. (long long ago)
I'm reading a book right now where the space aliens are like otters... it's pretty darned good, and not just because I know the writer (which makes it that much better) called Life Times.
been missing ya....

Cool, did you actually live on board or just spend a lot of time on them? Which San Juan? Also I'm somewhat curious how you found this picture. I would have thought for sure it was buried in the archives. I'm doubly curious because by chance you are one of the few furries I've met in person. I was at the spirituality panel you were suckered into hosting at AFF a couple years ago when Bosscat had to deal with some crisis or sandwich or something. =)
._. I know you? haha :D That's awesome!
No, I just searched 'sailboat' on here to see what came up. And amidst all the horrible horrible things, I saw your schooner. :)
I'm looking at a little 81' 23footer to fix up and sail around for a few years. Its in the same harbor as my parents SJ as well which is really neato. Was thinking about using it for relaxation, a investment project 'needs work', and a place to work on suits during the weekends in the summer time :)

Sounds like a great plan. I wish I had a bit more experience on the repair side. Most of what I have learned has been from books and figuring it out for myself. The thought of fixing up a boat is a bit daunting. The Victory is in need of some maintenance too.
Best of luck on your project.
