Will definitely be moving this to scraps later once I scan, pencil and ink, and maybe color. Had to take a snapshot with the camera in my phone since I'm waiting for a submarine here in Guam at the moment.

Just thought I'd update folks that I'm really not dead. Had a few minutes to sit down and sketch a couple days ago and lo and behold... this:

I think I'm slowly getting to the point where I can somewhat emulate  wolfsilvermoon's style, which is a good thing - I'm still aiming to give her some decent fan-art. I'm kind of liking how this came out a little better than previous attempts. Still not where I want to be, but better and less static looking than the ones before it.

Some improvement, but still a long way to go. Nose design needs some thought - probably needs some more depth to make it look right. Angle was a little odd to pull off - not used to working with the subject looking almost directly at the viewer... this is something I've always envied of other artists. Outlining the eye sockets a-la Lion-King style adds something to the pic and helps focus it. May have to start integrating it in to give the characters a more 3D look. Jaw seems a bit off... but it's useable as it stands. We'll see if it remains. Generic pup here - having troubles with Emo at the moment... c.C; Will probably have to do another page (or three) of emotions and heads to get that one down. Emo is surprisingly -hard- to get the expression down right. >_<;;; Hopefully this deployment period will be productive and the sketching gods will be kind.
