An update comic, because I don't actually believe anyone reads journals anymore. We just all click the "Nuke Journals" button and away those annoying notifications go.
The first four panels are just goofy comic antics of Ark playing around in Procreate trying to bring you the comic you see before you.
"For a long time now I really lost my motivation to draw. I kept wanting to come back, but would always get depressed and lose interest for one reason or another. I've started working full time, moved several times, and my work was demanding a lot of my time. Its been a very hard year so far, and I just couldn't find as much enjoyment in drawing.
I didn't lose my creative drive, it simply shifted gears to these little guys. Painting and playing Warhammer 40K has been helping me through this rough time. Now that my job has cooled down, I'm hoping to redirect some of my painting energy back to drawing.
I'm working on a new free-time management system for myself that should get my drawing more often. And Finally at last see comics like this see a return. Thank you all so much for all your kind words, favorites and support, more to come soon."
Thats the transcript from the last 3 panels in case you cant read it. I really do thank all of you SO MUCH for your support and encouragement over these 4 years I've been on FurAffinity now. I have been working on a system to take the decision making out of my hands in terms of doing hobby stuff, because I have too many hobbies at this point. Between playing the library full of Video games, drawing or painting and building warhammer, I have a lot of things that take up my spare time. Drawing tends to be one of the more energy intensive activities, requiring a lot of mental capacity to make up poses, expressions, match colors, ect. So I'm taking the decision making out of my own hands, I roll two six sided dice and consult the chart I made for the two things I get to do that day. Be it video game, draw or paint / build. I'm trying to limit it to 3hrs a day per activity so I do both and not just only play games if I get a games result.
It seems to be working okay so far, and I'm getting more used to it now. So hopefully this new change will be good. Getting this comic to this point only took 2 drawing results, which I'm ecstatic about, and also proves to me that I can do comics still. Actually better than before, because I no longer like I said in the comic have to go in, and squash a rectangle down to make a line to make comic panel borders. There's a drawing guide now that does 2D to make straight lines that are perfectly perpendicular. It's awesome!
I have also been doing a lot of painting my armies for 40K, and have been toying with the idea of whether or not to just make a separate 40K account to post all my miniatures on. Because I realize a large portion of my followers probably follow me for my fuzzy characters, and not little plastic painted army figures. So that may become a thing soon, also bonus points to anyone who can identify what faction the model Ark is holding in panel 6 is!
Thanks so much for all the support over the years, and thank you especially, who read all the way through that wall of text. Stick around, I might do some special stuff once I hit 200 followers.
