folf: what the? a giant bird in space? i'd better call the guys back at base.

Lt.troy(the leopard): folf's coming through on the speaker sir.
general pepper: go ahead folf. *as general pepper speaks to folf, fox and falco arrive in the lift*
folf: everything's going fine general. but there's something really weird happening right now.
general pepper: what do you mean?
folf: there's this giant winged bird alien that's flying about. it nearly bumped into tony but he's okay.
general pepper: ?!, folf, you call your men back to the great fox and stay there until it get's through the asteroid field!
folf: huh? why?
general pepper: don't ask questions! just do as i say please! that bird is dangerious!
folf: as you say sir. *turns off his headset.* you heard him guys. retreat back to the great fox and and we'll wait till we get through.
*back at corneria HQ*
fox: sir, why did you order folf to go back to the great fox? he could have just ignored it and carried on.
general pepper: fox, i think there's something you and your son need to know. lieutenant, get folf on the comms again.
troy: right away sir. *turns to the screen* calling folf o'donnell.
*folf's face appears on the screen*
folf: yes sir?
general pepper: right. what i'm about to tell you is top secret that was kept between me and your grandfather, James.
years ago, James Mccloud had a fourth member of his squadron, Desslar Coba. you may have heard of his disappearance.
falco: Desslar Coba? i think i heard of his name.
general pepper: indeed. he was heading to a space station in the asteroid belt when he encountered the bird.
*flashback*
James: you okay desslar?
Desslar Coba: okay is the right word. i'm blasting a large asteroid. *pause* what the?
James: what's wrong?
Desslar Coba: there's a giant alien bird flying about.
James: i think you's better move back desslar, in case it's one of andross's experiments.
Desslar Coba: maybe if i observe it from a distance...oh shit, it's spotted me and it's flying towards me!
James: get out of there Desslar! *static* Desslar! can you hear me? your arwing is going off course! we need you to protect corneria!
Desslar Coba*in a high pitched voice*: everything's so pretty....hehehe.....
James: Desslar?! Desslar come in!! shit!
*flashback ends*
general pepper: james mccloud issued a report to me of the giant bird and we both accepted that Desslar was transported to another dimension, and may be possibly dead. we also decided that the bird is dangerous and anyone who encounters it should avoid it.


for anyone who's wondering who Desslar Coba is, he's a character who appears in the Star Fox Mission File Printout, which was a japanese strategy guide for starfox when it was released in 1993.
