Bucky’s third girlfriend, Real name ???, Alias Jane Doe
At first, you would assume that she was a mild-mannered bookworm doe, but looks can be quite deceiving, as Jane is anything but ordinary.
As part of an extraterrestrial race whose spends most of their time infiltrating other planets and gathering as much knowledge about them as possible, Jane was tasked with doing so on the planet Earth. When she first arrived, she happened to come across the term, Jane Doe, and related to its representation of anonymity, and thus it became her new identity. She adjusted her appearance to match her name, and took to wearing gloves as protective measure when turning pages in the library’s books, where she spent most of her time.
Bucky happened to one day stumble into the same library that Jane was in after looking for an all-you-can-buffet that was supposedly in the same area. He soon came across Jane, who like usual was deeply absorbed in a book, and was immediately smitten by her beauty. From his previous two relationships, Bucky had decided to be more selective in what he was looking for in a romantic partner, and wanted someone more similar to himself that he could relate to (the same way that Mickey has Minnie and Bugs has Lola). Bucky, in his usual over-the-top manner, introduces himself to Jane and professed him feelings towards her. Initially confused and intrigued by this behavior, Jane agreed to got out with him.
Bucky enjoyed being with Jane at first, chalking up her strange behaviors as her being as she put it “foreign” and even enjoying it when she probed him that one time. However even the typically clueless Bucky noticed how emotionless Jane seemed, not finding joy in anything that they did together and only ever showed interest when she was engrossed in one of her books. This continued until during one of their dates where they were on a park bench together and Jane was as usual engrossed in one of her books, Bucky finally decided he had had enough and in a kindly manner, ended their relationship and kissed her goodbye.
In that moment, Jane finally was able to comprehend those elusive feelings that she been struggling to understand for quite a while, love and loss.
She presented her findings to her superiors and was given permission to continue researching this phenomenon of love on Earth. Happy that she would have a second chance with Bucky, she went to find him, but by the time she did, he had already started a relationship with someone new. While saddened that she had lost her chance to be with him, Jane still looks out for Bucky’s well-being while fulfilling her mission to understand love by observing his relationship with others.
