Overlooking the Coastal part of the Kalos region along Route 8, Athena stops for a moment, releasing one of the newer members of her traveling party from his pokeball. Whilst in the Glittering Caves, rooting out those pricks that call themselves Team Flare, Athena stumbled upon an Old Amber Pokémon Fossil, (along with capturing the Steel/Fairy Mawile as well). Upon resurrection, the mighty beast, Aerodactyl, was confused. Nothing was as he had remembered it. Everything around the giant, prehistoric pokemon was new, frightening even. Still, Athena had remained steadfast and calm. She alone could truly understand Aerodactyl, as his shrieks and cries that others would just call "noise" had reached her ears as clear as day. Athena could hear him, he was once a lord of the skies, feared by all and equaled by none.
Slowly, the Aerodactyl began to calm down. Athena had not bound him to a Pokeball, he was free to leave right now should he so choose, to be a lord of the skies once more. But, who else beside her could ever understand him?
"Easy there, my sweet giant." Athena said, reaching out with her hand to stroke the great beast, "Thexadrell... this is my promise to you... you shall be the mightiest of you're kind... the strongest there ever was or will be."
Athena had kept her promise to the great beast, as when she had restored Thexadrell back to life, she had also procured his Mega Stone. Thexadrell was indeed to reclaim his crown as the lord of the skies, and God help any other pokemon or trainer that got in his way.
Okay, I love Aerodactyl! I mean, REALLY love this thing, I've been using it on competitive teams of mine since gen III! But, my one qualm with it is that in most of the games, you get Aerodactyl so late in the game you don't really have a chance to use it as a traveling pokemon. In X and Y, you have access to this sweet giant before you get the second gym badge! So, Aerodactyl was (and still is) the "Megalution" in my main traveling team for X. He knows fly, hence why he's got the saddle there. Athena's dressed down a bit too, as short, short mini skirts, corsets, and high-heeled boots aren't very practical while traveling. In doubles matches, it is not uncommon for Athena's Delphox, Mandoon, to ride on Thexadrell's back. Thexadrell's Mega Stone is kept on his saddle.
I also wanted to showcase a little bit of the Pokémon Amie here, hence the Poke'puff Athena's feeding to Thexadrell. Yes, even the fierce Aerodactyl enjoys his snack cakes!
