RIP Vicky Wyman
I was seriously hoping to have secured a decent , recent photo of Vicky to use in this, but nobody came forward with one. So I used her icon as the memorial.
I really wanted this out a week ago, but not locating a photo didn't help, and losing Vicky just days after losing Mavra nailed me hard.
I apologize , I am deeply sorry this is late.
Vicky I've known for decades, we both were part of the first fandom. Vicky was a grand lady, proud American and didn't care for fools lightly. Vicky would catch some of the slings and arrows in the past year. But Vicky being Vicky, basically held her ground and thumbed her nose at them.
Vicky also loved to draw her ladies rather sexy, and it earned her many a watcher and garnered her many a commission. Plus her sculpts were utterly wonderfully detailed.
And her comic, Xanadu was a fantastic read and pure eye candy.
I'm going to miss her. If anybody can still get me a decent recent photo of her, I'll redraw this.

been a Fan of her work for so long Did not know until 3 months ago that she was realy sick.... Hoped she would pull through... so sad, she has been in the Furry community since forever she even worked with Ken and Steve on Fusion and that is saying a lot.... this is an Artist that deserves a Wikipedia page.

Was there when Xanadu #1 was out. Got the series and the Ever Changing Palace glossy 'sines. No regrets. Artist much missed.
Ms Wyman patterned the three male lead characters after the Lupin III anime and which she was a fan. Wily thief Tabbe Le Fauve/Lupin, dry sidekick Jonathan/Jigen, samurai thief Kinomon/Goemon. Princess Alicia/Fujiko Mine as the manipulative lady who can't be refused. Watch some episodes of Lupin III as a tribute.

Xanadu was what got me into the fandom. I'd seen a few issues of Albedo and others before, but it wasn't until I stumbled across this one particular full-page ad in that ole magazine for comics buyers -- the breathtaking one with Fatima dancing, in full glory -- that I knew this was something I had to get.
I bought that, the color Phelia one-shot, all of the Ever-Changing Palace fanzine, the one where Alicia met the Kirin, and the collections of both those series. It was years later that I met he at the first CF East and found out what a lovely person she was in reality too; she even did art of the characters for me.
It was always a joy to meet her or commission her.
She was a wonderful, wonderful person and if we're the less for her loss we're the richer for having known her.

Damn the furry world lost a grand and wonderful lady. Never got the chance to meet her but I did have the chance to commission her a few times. Her work on Xanadu, Steve Gallacci’s Albedo, Fra Barr, and your various comics back in the late 80’s are what got hooked on the Indy comics back when Marvel and DC where going no where.
