Midnight (Midni for short) and Joel hail from a region that was hit with a meteorite from a different dimension, causing the entire ecosystem to evolve and change. The biggest one being that some Pokemon are now fused together into an all new being. These pokemon are far more powerful than their originals but still carry the same weaknesses, they’re just slightly closer legendary status now. As it stands they are uncommon-rare but tend to show up when large pulses of power can be felt or seen.

Midnight’s background is still largely the same as she originally was but is now more sultry, smart, and powerful. Being fused with a psychic type has given her immense telekinetic power, combined with her ghostly powers she can even warp reality to a degree. Joel’s background is roughly the same too, just a trainer who came across and caught her during a severe storm that was caused by her fighting an electric/rock fusion. The two are inseparable, Midnight adores him and his team see them as family since they treat her like a normal Pokemon instead of a monster. She would probably level a city if something were to happen to either.

The region thing is something I am considering. We had that fusion phase a long time ago, why not run with it.
