Another one of my tiny 3x5 2x5 mix media paintings. I'm severely backlogged with pieces from last year that I really, REALLY need to upload into my gallery. I had always scanned in a bunch at a time, but I never put them all up right away, just so that I could upload slowly and gradually, leaving my watchers hungry for more, then I end up forgetting all about them! Seriously, I'll try to be better this year, I'll try!
Anyways, my scanner MURDERED the metallic purple on Punk's arm and blaze, but the rest of it turned out okay. I was trying out a textured Strathmore Paper to see how well it worked with Gel pens. What do you guys think?
Special thanks to all my loyal watchers for not giving up on me! I know I haven't been timely with my uploads and I'm way behind... (let me tell ya, working retail SUCKS!) I've been really stressed as of late, and when I'm stressed, I don't write or do artwork well.
But, I am making an effort to do more artwork this year, in particular with traditional materials. I've got some pieces, (some of which you may recognize such as King of the Lycans, which I've got in digital), that have been on Cardstock, inked and ready to be colored, that have been just sitting for 4-5 years or more! Right now, I've been working on re-training myself and experimenting using those... and yes, I WILL upload them! In the meantime, when I have to draw using pencil and sketch paper, I've been stepping out of my usual comfort zone and working on other not-as-well known creatures of fantasy.
