Answering my twenty-first question! Thank you  StillUndecided for asking!
You've got to be careful who you ask what sometimes, or you may not get all the answers out of them. x3
Chase may have traveled around a little, but he's admittedly not the smartest character out there and as such, will answer as honestly as he can, but will still hesitate if he's not 100%

There are only a few species: Wolf, Fox, Bear, Cat, Bird. But within each of those are at least 2 different races/tribes for each one.

Most foxes might be similar, but there are dozens of "tribes" residing on the islands and even on the mainland, each with slightly different characteristics but all agree to being known as Foxes (as in, yeah they're different, but they're willing to cooperate with one another.)

Bears are separated into essentially North and South (White and Brown) but are still unified with no dislikes for one another.

"Birds" are Eagles and Owls, again North and South; but unlike bears who's only real differing characteristics are fur color, these two are of course entirely separate "races." But they come together as one mainly due to their mutual dislike for the felines to the north.

Felines are a little varied. (In the old map they're more based on where they're at, but I figure now it should be similar to that but also two or three different actual "races.") Either way, the felines are definitely unified if a little different from one another. The only thing stopping them from taking over more of the continent really is the fact that they're blocked by mountains. (And the fact that they've already lost a previous war.) Wolves and Felines don't get along unsurprisingly.

Wolves are, well.. a lot of it boils down to fur color. They mainly stick to their own color (tribe) for the most part, except that Sraiks have been trying to round them all up and unify them (more for their personal gain.) Only major exception to the more solitary style between fur colors is the Red and Dark Brown wolves who are certainly more closely knit than other tribes but still have their differences. Still, it's more of "stick to your own, but hey if you're not a white wolf then you should be a 'Sraik'"

Lyford is a special case which is why there are wolves there, but more of a population of other species than you'd normally find anywhere else (except felines) and doesn't have it's own "tribe" area on the dA map. It's all because of its history but that'd be for another post as this one is long enough.

Also, within the more uncharted areas there may be other (small) species that aren't well known. ALSO, this is just one continent, who knows what else could be out there~ (I don't know either, that's more supposed to be open ended in case I need to add something else later on x3)
