It's SO useful. You can use it for fading things out, deleting stuff without destroying the original, getting special effects to only affect a specific area and all sorts of nifty tricks.

Cool, will have to try this. I remember having a reptile skin texture a while back that didn't loop, not sure if this trick would work, but at least now I can make stuff.

This works on randomish textures. With repeating patterns you might have to move things around and do some editing to get them to match.
