Hmm....
These are the cookies, but they don't look as green as the picture I saw with the recipe.
Here's the recipe: http://www.kirbiecravings.com/2009/.....a-cookies.html
Ingredients
* 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 1 egg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, matcha green tea powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll dough into balls about one inch in diameter and flatten slightly to create round discs, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
Lil Eevee's Commentary:
Well, as you can see, they aren't all that green. I actually put extra Matcha powder in the mix and sprinkled some on the top but it still wasn't all that green o_O
Also when I was trying to roll the dough it... Wasn't very doughy... It was sticky and more gooey, I had to add a bit more flour just to work with it. >_<
My cookies came out huge, I always seem to mess up on cookie sizes though o////o;;
And lastly, the overall taste: Hmmnn... It wasn't all that great actually, they taste like sugar cookies and the green tea taste is hard to detect, which is kinda sad since I LOOOVE green tea. I dunno, this recipe was kind of weird, I'm going to look for other green tea cookie recipes that have the matcha stand out a bit more than this one.
Matcha is kind of expensive by the way, I had to get it in little packs in order to get it cheaper.
Ever since I ate some really delicious green tea cookies at the store I've been wanting to try and recreate them. They are SOOOO good ; x; I hope I find something good soon!
