Nope, not yet. I did the cruise-boat thing back in 2004 (back when I had a good job to pay for it!), but hopefully I'll drag the trailer up there next summer.

I'd certainly be willing for you to come along; the company sure would do me good! Given that I had a little trouble entering the US last fall, it would be best if I get the trailer into Alaska before you arrive. Have you priced out airfare to Fairbanks? How long could you take off work?

That said, whether I go or not this year really depends on the economy. I was more optimistic about things last fall; I follow some economic blogs, and it looks like 2010 will not be a good year! At this point, I'm taking things one month at a time, but I'll certainly let you know. Let's hope for the best!

Airfare was around $800 last I checked to fairbanks. In which case if 2010 isn't good for you, that would be okay because with the way money is for me these days, I don't think I could come up with that sort of money by summer anyways. Perhaps 2011? That would be plenty of time for me to plan. My work is very good about time off and I could take anywhere from one week to two off with enough notice.

Okay, 2011 could certainly work out even better. I'll try to give you as much advance notice as I can.

True, 'tis quite cold up there in winter, especially with how little sunlight there is. But everything else Alaska has to offer just outweighs any discomfort from the winter cold to me, and it's not like yer standing out there in yer skivvies. (At least I hope you wouldn't be XD )
