The head's pretty much finished! Still a little lumpy in places on the face, will have to get some electric clippers to even that out. Retextured the antlers and repainted them darker and added a gradient to the color, like it much better now. All that's left to finish this guy off is a little more trimming and putting the rings on his antlers, as well as adding the little gem in the middle of that forehead mark.
Back shot is really lumpy as it's not on a head, but you get the picture. :3

I pretty much am remaking it from the bottom up. There were too many issues with the base snapping since it's made of mesh and not reinforced properly. The only things I'll be keeping are the antlers, which are pretty much indestructible already, and the hood that covers the back of the head.
Who knows, I may eventually remake it again, depending on how it turns out. XD Haha, the price of being a perfectionist, eh?

Yeah. hence why I have 4 spooky masks lol.
But for a base I'd highly recommend getting a cast of your head and making it on a balaclava base - mesh is nearly impossible to work with in my opinion and just making a foam base with a polyurethane skull works way better.
Thats just how I do things though.

I'd very much like to work with hard cast foam, polyurethane, fiberglass, etc etc; basically more advanced materials involving casting and whatnot, but for now that is sadly not an option for the amount of money & space I have available where I'm living. ^^; Hopefully I will be moving soon to a place where I can devote a room or shed to my various art things, as right now I have about a 4 foot space in my room that isn't being taken over by art supplies.
80% of my bedroom is just art crap right now. I got the cast of my head made a few years ago and even though its been broken several times I still have to fix it up because its the only one I'm going to have for a long time.
And I literally make all my masks and costume stuff at my desk. My floor is covered in fur and foam trimmings.
