This is Luke a wolf hybrid at a wolf sanctuary I spent Sunday working at for a lab in my Animal behavior class. They're not sure what he's crossed with but assuming mastiff as he's HUGE!
Such a sweetheart though a little skittish at quick movements.
One of 3 wolves I got to meet face to face at Mission: Wolf
Pictures taken at Mission: Wolf on Sunday September 21st.

The other over 250 photos can be seen here: http://mutantskunk.com/photos/MissionWolf/
There is a folder at the bottom of the page DO NOT click it unless you want to see 20 pictures of me and the other students cutting up a steer. It's very gory and I warned you.

Note: I DO NOT want to hear comments about how sexy you think these animals are. Raping animals is sick and I will report you perverts.
Thank you.

IMO wolves should be in the wild and they should not be bred with dogs and sold. It ends in a lot of sad situations for the animals. Sanctuaries like this should not have to exist for any animal.
I am sorry your hybrid was shot though, it's sad to lose an animal of any type.
The majority of wolves at this sanctuary were pets people abandoned or animals from roadside zoos and the illegal pet trade.

Very thriving. They have their mortgage paid off so all their money goes to running the sanctuary and caring for the wolves. All their employees are volunteers in tepees. It's wicked beautiful up there.
I'm hoping to take Sam and Echo this summer to do some volunteer work for a day or 2.
