A sketch commission of Adahn the rogue from one of my campaigns.
This is the one in which I play Suulalu the genasi (elsewhere in the gallery)
Adahn tends to make enemies of everyone by making all the wrong decisions with some kind of good intention...
it's a skill really.

I feel like this guy has quite the stretch on the road paved with good intentions, and if you ever showed him the sheer scale of the thing, he'd give a one-word remark or even just an affirmative noise and completely miss what it's supposed to represent entirely
On an unrelated note, I love billowy clothes like this, especially the shoulders and hood, which is always interesting because I usually value symmetry but there's something about well dome asymmetry...
And I get the odd vibe that at some point he's done something that would make the song "Save Me" by Globus, very fitting. Not sure why, maybe he seems like the type to be hiding something underneath everything, almost like he's trying and trying even though he keeps making all the wrong decisions, because he's trying to make up for something buried deep down that he's never told anyone?
Some days I wish there was some way to talk to the characters we make, and discover things about them we didn't even know, as the ones who supposedly created them. Because I always feel, when I write my characters, I'm not creating them. I'm merely writing down what I've learned about them, as if they've always existed and I'm receiving some sort of signal of their lives, here and there, never in order.

When I'm developing characters I write down a bunch of questions, get into character and do an 'interview' with them, some things get ad libbed and added in and some things I already know but it all helps to solidify the character.
But yeah, this guy has a background, doesn't tell people his real name and generally doesn't have a good record.
You're perceptive~

Ahaha, I have a character like that too from my writing; the visual appeal is cool, the reek and side effects are lolno, but I managed to finagle it by making it a one-way thing; it's for clearing respiratory buildup (he's not fully human) so it binds with the buildup in gaseous form, so there's nothing exhaled and it can give off a soft sent from residual heat on the casing to make both downsides a nonissue :D
At least until anyone else foolishly steals and uses one; industrial strength acidic gas does pretty rude things to human lungs
