It's been a long time since I've given Maji some love, surprising especially given how much of a constant he's been in my crew in the ten years since I created him. Recently was looking over some past renditions many others have done of him over time, and felt kind of inspired to draw him again and play around with his design somewhat. The last update he had was back in 2010, so it felt fun to revisit him and play around with possibilities. Maji had a lot in common with Reign at first in terms of design, but he slowly started to differentiate himself in certain ways to come more into his own and I wanted to revisit that concept. This isn't quite everything I had in mind, but then again, different ideas come and go so I just went with it. Kind of a rough take on an idea I've had in mind for several years focusing on Maji and what he's all about. Here, I gave 'em more spines to his quills, gave him a hat to wear (although how feasibly possible a hat like that is to exist to show off his bangs, who knows), headphones, rolled his undershirt's sleeves up a bit, but still the same old Maji. This take on his design isn't really meant to be an update, but more so just a variation possibility of appearance in today's times. He's a DJ and all about the music, so I decided to showcase that here a bit with his design and the background...as well as his love of chocolate milkshakes.

Third time ever drawing Maji. Hopefully someday might come a better tribute to him, but until then, it's a start.
