Middy was alway the... shy... type. He would shy away from anything that contained carbon, hydrogen, or nitrogen as a component...

Constantly teased in school for both being a brainiac, for his looks, and the way he reacts to things, there is no wonder gardening was his favorite hobby: it is quiet, calming, and required USING THE GROUND.

His parents feared that is innate fear of heights, and anything larger than him... which is a lot... would stump his growth and cause him to never go into flight form. Telling their beloved son, in which his younger, and already flying, brother constantly laughed at behind his back, that they had enrolled him into a science camp, he was more than enthused to go.

Arriving, and the bus trip there, were more of an interesting situation, thanks to a large eared electric type that kept on drooling on him while she slept. Finding out that he was actually at a space camp, while registering, he promptly fainted, and got introduced to the camp's medical team... you can imagine what happened there.

Deciding it would be safer in the dorm while he PRAYED that somebody would send a cab, or maybe if he claimed he had enough allergies and might be sent home, he gets introduced to a pair of avian twin that gives him a rather unusual house warming reception.
