Following the Splinter Wars, the now-independent Beast Elves roamed the lands,s searching for new homes. Beast Elves, suffused with alchemical energy, had extremely adaptive genealogies, and would dramatically mutate to adopt traits best suited to their environs. One such tribe staked out a small village in the deep bamboo forests of Yamato. Here, they developed two distinct and powerful disciplines: the unmatched guerilla combat of ninjutsu, and the peerless spiritual warfare of onmyodou. Here, too, was born the first heiress of both disciplines: Junko.
Junko’s people, the Akai, was made of two distinct clans: the Red Clan, who dedicated themselves to the physical and worked as hunters, warriors, and craftsmen, and the White Clan, pursuing instead spiritual, intellectual, and aesthetic arts. Relations between the clans were warm and amiable, each dedicating themselves to the health of the whole. Intermarriage between the clans was rare, but not unheard of, and such an intermarriage resulted in the birth of Junko.
At the age of twelve, Junko underwent a ritual in which, as a child of the two clans, she chose which pursuit to follow. Publicly, Junko chose to join the White Clan and now spent her time in tutelage under her father, learning the ascetic arts of onmyodo. Secretly, however, she also trained with her mother, a very proficient kunoichi. Junko proved to be natural at both disciplines, and her parents soon resolved to reveal the talents to village. Sadly, tragedy would strike before their wish could be fulfilled.
The akai had long drawn the ire of various demons and devils for their refusal to engage with the dark arts. One such devil, the Orochi, hatched a plan to destroy the village. He kidnapped Junko and spread lies among each clan that the other was responsible. Junko was eventually able to free herself and even slew Orochi, but it was too late: by the time she arrived, the Akai were already lost to civil war.
Her home destroyed, Junko began wandering the lands. She would eventually learn tale of the Archspell, the most supreme of all magical spells, with the power to rewrite reality. Thus she took the mantle of Seeker, resolving to find the Archspell and use it’s fantastical power to turn back time and restore her clan.

Another commission from an anonymous patron. I don't think I've ever drawn a red panda until now. Even though I find them adorable, I've never done it.
